Aurora sighed as, once again, she returned to her own lands dejectedly. It had been a very long time since the last of the herd leaders had departed, in the time of the Great Flood, so many years ago. They had been scared, their fire-based powers diminished, and had fled for the desert-lands far away. Now it seemed, they were never to come back. Stepping through the numerous fires that burned throughout her lands, she felt the tingling sensation of her coat catching fire, and caught sight of the flames that were seemingly eating away at her long, wind-blown mane. She knew that her brown coat would now be red-gold and filled with flickering light and deep shadows. Leaping onto a high rock, she stood there for a moment. Not a breah of wind came to relieve the blistering heat today, but that was the way she liked it. She was, after all, the Fire Godess. However, as she gazed out over the lands, her heart sank at their emptiness. Nothing stirred, not even the trees or grass in a slight breeze. Rearing, she stood clear uon the high outcropping, and proclaimed her presence to the world, calling for someone to come and occupy her lands once more. mystique~~
